educators to the third annual free ArtServe
Michigan Governor’s Awards for Arts & Culture Student Event on Friday, November 19, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Michigan Opera
Theatre. Listen as the
techno music wizardry of Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson
“The Belleville Three” comes alive. Three of the most amazing men to create music in Detroit, these legendary masters of techno music will penetrate your soul with the expressive force and versatility of techno music. The music of Juan, Derrick and Kevin – nurtured with elements of funk, rock, and soul – defies classification. Hailed for their concerts of “where the sounds and streets of Detroit become real”…where machinery and factories speak out through their art…the Belleville Three intersects the unimaginable boundaries of music, art and technology. The student event is a project of ArtServe Michigan. The event generally attracts more than 700 students who are able to experience first-hand the work of some of Michigan’s most prominent artists.
