All ArtServe Michigan activities come under the definition of advocacy: the centerpiece of the organization.

ArtServe Michigan's advocacy activities are designed to raise the public's understanding and awareness of what arts and culture are about and how artists, arts educators, cultural activities and organizations contribute to education, economic development and the quality of life in Michigan.

ArtServe Michigan is a vital communication link between artists, arts educators, arts organizations and government.  From grassroots advocacy to legislative affairs, ArtServe Michigan monitors and speaks out on public policy issues affecting the arts and arts education in Michigan.

Through our GrassRoots Arts Advocacy Network Distribution (GRAAND) e-alert
Members Only Newsletter and Speakers’ Bureau, ArtServe Michigan provides information to Michigan’s citizens, elected officials, and the statewide arts community about issues of importance to the arts on both state and federal levels.

To learn more about how ArtServe Michigan is working to increase support for arts and culture in Michigan through advocacy, email  or call 517-371-7029.
