ArtServe Michigan's Business of Being an Artist Workshop (BBAW) links artists with the tools they need to address business issues such as creating a business plan, funding strategies, legal guidelines, professional development, accounting, marketing and promotion.

Organizations can:

· Provide your community members with the business skills to strengthen their career in the arts

Artists can: 
· Learn business fundamentals to strengthen your career

Volunteer Lawyers for Arts and Culture 
Strengthening Arts and Culture through Legal Access

ArtServe Michigan's Volunteer Lawyers for Arts and Culture Program (VLAC) is a referral service that provides pro-bono legal assistance for arts-related matters to income-eligible artists or arts and cultural organizations.

Artists and Arts & Cultural Organizations can: 
· Gain valuable legal expertise and counsel at reduced or no cost · Learn about legal topics specific to your discipline

Legal Professionals can: 
· Grow professionally by meeting new challenges · Interact with people active in the creative process

If you have an arts related legal issue concerning contracts, copyrights, patents and trademarks, acquisition of business space, real estate, incorporation, insurance, labor relations, tax, estates and wills, and constitutional / First Amendment issues, or are interested in becoming a volunteer lawyer, please contact us. Michigan Artist Directory 
Strengthening Arts and Culture through Opportunities

The Michigan Artist Directory (MAD) is a comprehensive listing of Michigan artists sorted by discipline and region. As an additional resource to artists and organizations, there is an e-newsletter of opportunities sent monthly.

Artists can: 
· Receive e-newsletters of opportunities in Michigan that are discipline specific. Registration is free
· Gain statewide promotional support in the Michigan Artist Directory

Organizations can: 
· Sign up to submit your call for entries, Request For Proposal's, competitions and opportunities.  It's free!
· Broadcast your art related need to a statewide, discipline specific audience

The Michigan Artist Directory (MAD) serves visual artists, dancers, musicians, poets, novelists, playwrights, actors, craftspeople and all other creative professionals living in Michigan! All you have to do is subscribe. The Directory may also be available to organizations seeking to fill an arts related need.

Fiscal Sponsorship Program 
Strengthening Arts and Culture through Fund Development

The Fiscal Sponsorship Program is a unique opportunity for artists, artists' collaborative projects and emerging arts organizations in all disciplines to apply for funding and other resources that are generally only available to organizations with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.

Artists can: 
· Overcome funding barriers for projects by utilizing ArtServe Michigan as a fiduciary 
· Broaden your project's funding base by partnering with foundations, corporations and individuals

Emerging Arts Organizations can: 
· Leverage funds for programs, projects and general operating support 
· Gain technical assistance to manage your granting process
